The life of a single mom isn’t an easy one. You’re often stretched for time and with only one stream of income to support your family, it can be challenging to earn enough to put food on the table. Such was the plight of a slightly younger Abby Herman, who desperately wanted to add to her teacher income with something she could do when her daughter went to bed at night.
That ‘something’ turned out to be copywriting. Like many copywriters, Abby began her journey as a freelancer. Although her first freelance gig only paid $9 an hour, she was thrilled to have the work. Launching a side hustle offered her a financial safety net and because Abby is an action-taker, she didn’t give up on her business. She continued to work hard and grew her copywriting career into a six-figure business.
